First and...My reactions are quite similar to yours. First and foremost I am glad that YLE decided (really for the first time since they invited Lordi to take part) think out of the box and do something new to Finland but something that other countries have done with success. With one artist and limited number of songs we can really concentrate on the package.

Saara Aalto was quite predictable choice but in no means perfect. She is a showwoman and she proved in X Factor UK that she can handle big audiences and big extravaganzas. On the other hand we've yet to hear anything new from her, so far her biggest triumphs have been singin songs already known and proven blockbusters. So can she do it with a song that no-one has heard before? But if it wasn't Saara Aalto, who else could it be?

I think it comes down to two things. Number one, YLE and Saara must find a good song that does not just rely on her personality and her passion. A song she can do a relaxed (not overexcited) and professional performance with but which stands also as a good song by itself. With that team it shouldn't be impossible.

2. With a experienced show personality as Saara, Yle (+ Saaras entourage) must choose the right team and right concept to create a stage show that enhances the song, works for Saara but does not make a mess of the whole thing. Maybe they should give Rennie Mirro a call.

Only one artist and only three songs is also good idea as it saves the money for more important things. You don't have to create a fullblown stage show for 12 different songs, so there should be enough money left to make the three songs work perfectly and even some extra euros to enhance the song chosen for Lisbon with some stage and screen gimmicks that Finland has not so far been able or willing to use.

So with a 1. Good song, 2. Well planned, reheared and budgeted stage performance and 3. Saara doing the best she can do (and not overdo it) we might have a chance.
